Orlando, FL (November 2019) - Revology Cars, creator of the world’s first new licensed reproduction classic Ford Mustang, is now applying its expertise to the Mustang performance parts business.
At this week’s SEMA show in Las Vegas, Revology Performance is debuting a new line of parts for enthusiasts to build their own Mustang restomods with components properly designed and engineered for the purpose.
“Restomod”, a combination of “restored” and “modified”, is used to describe a classic vehicle that has been updated with modern technology to improve its performance and functionality.
“The automotive aftermarket has its roots in hot rodding, and while we all revere the idea that a guy with a wrench and some American ingenuity can do anything, the reality is today’s cars are so complex, and the interaction among vehicle systems so embedded, that the days of just bolting on parts and going down the road are over,” says Tom Scarpello, CEO and founder of Revology Cars. “It’s time for a new approach.”
By starting with a vehicle platform and developing a set of vehicle systems for that platform, Revology can provide a fully integrated solution. This systems engineering approach means the builder completes his project more efficiently, with a better end result.
“What makes us different is that we are a car company first, and a parts company second,” says Aaron Wright, Revology’s chief engineer. “Parts companies sell parts they specialize in, then the builder has to figure out how to make them work in the car he is building. We specialize in the car, and therefore can provide an entire portfolio of vehicle systems that are designed to work together in that car.
Two examples of the systems engineered components available from Revology Performance are on display this week at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (SEMA) trade show in Las Vegas. These components are designed to facilitate the installation of the 2011-current 5.0 liter Ford Ti-VCT ‘Coyote’ V8 engine in model year 1964.5 to 1970 Mustangs.
The first is an air intake system designed to allow the sophisticated Coyote engine to perform to its full potential when packaged in a 1964.5-70 Mustang, and the second is a pedal box assembly which allows for fitment of power brakes in the tightly packed engine bay.
These components, along with compatible systems for suspension, steering, brakes, engine cooling, front-end accessory drive, electronics and more, are or will be available from Revology Performance in the near future.
In addition to offering complete vehicle systems, Revology Performance also differentiates itself in the quality of technical support available to builders using its parts. Revology master technician and tech support guru Rich Niles explains: “We are installing these parts every day so we are able to provide expert advice and guidance, unlike a warehouse retailer that handles hundreds of thousands of part numbers.”
Importantly, Revology Performance can provide this level of support while matching the warehouse retailers on price for commercially available parts, because it buys direct from the manufacturers as well.
“In summary, we offer the highest quality, thoughtfully engineered, proven compatible parts and vehicle systems, plus expert tech support and the most competitive prices,” says Scarpello. “If you are building a 1964.5-70 Mustang restomod, you definitely need to talk with us.”
