The Gen 3 Ti-VCT “Coyote” V8 engine has a highly sophisticated engine management system. To allow the system to function properly, the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor must have a smooth, linear flow of intake air. To achieve this, we created a fully enclosed air box, which eliminates turbulence in the intake air charge that can confuse the MAF and cause the ECM to generate a suboptimal fuel\/air ratio. The air intake also draws cool, dense air from outside of the engine bay, which allows the engine to make more power. The airbox mounts to the vehicle’s apron and is finished in a matte silver powder coat to match the intake runners and give a premium look to the engine compartment.
